The path of least resistance will always be there and always be calling your name to head down that way. It looks glamorous and extremely appealing. A lot of people will take that road so you will never be lonely.
However, although that road may get you to the destination you desire to get to, it may not be the correct way to get there.
Water which will always head down the hill following the path of least resistance, does not have to worry about the correct way. It will land up in the river at some stage.
Unlike water, in business, there is a correct way to go about your daily existence. This road will be difficult at times. It may not bring you riches quickly. This road will be lonely at times. You ,may even have thoughts of “am i on the correct path?”
The answer? A resounding YES. Has is this true?
The answer is simple. The path down the easy way will not take you to the place you desire. If it does, it will come at a cost. These costs are not worth the destination.
The correct way may come at a cost but this fact is true, they are worth every second. The benefits far outweigh the sacrifice. these costs include long hours in front of your computer or in the garage when starting a manufacturing business from scratch. If you look at the successful businesses out there, they all went through these sacrifices. They don’t have to be global companies either. It may be the local bottle store owner or the pool guy that makes your pool wonderfully blue after you have tried everything you know. They all started the down that road, years ago.
in terms of your business, there are 2 main ways that will lead you down the correct path:
Registering your company (as a legal entity, i. Whatever form available). This includes income tax, payroll taxes and possibly VAT (may be at a later stage), and
Keeping the correct accounting records. Yes, you read correctly. If you do this from day one, there will be no looking over your shoulder to see of the tax man is there. These records have to be solid. They may not be extensive at first. As the saying goes, of your accounting system is complicated, you are doing it wrong! You don’t have to hire a full time accountant but it is worth having one advise you on how to set your system up.
There is a plethora of books out there explaining every detail of the path less travelled. The correct path. Travel this road and you will never have to look back.
