Where do you want your business to be in 5 or 10 years time?
What are your goals for the business? Are they too small? If you think small, your business will stay small. This is a growing problem and one of the major setbacks to the growth of many businesses.
You go out and start your own business doing something that you are exceptionally good at doing. However, you are the only one who does it. You will never get to a bigger company like that!
Just remember this, every single “massive corporation” started as an idea. The most commonly used one is Microsoft. Started in a garage by 2 people. They dreamt big and guess what? They are big! HP, Facebook and google, classic examples!
Thinking big does not always mean that you have to have loads of money. Again, some of the greatest minds started as one person with a dream. A BIG dream.
Another common argument for not going BIG is that means SARS will want all your profit! Another comment is, I hate paying tax so I will just keep to myself. Yes, when you grow, your profit should grow and therefore you should start paying tax. This is a fact of life. Pay what is due and keep chasing that big dream.
Where is your business going? BIG or small?
