Even accountants like technological advancements. They don’t just sit in the corner smashing away on the keyboard. It is true. Technology has brought a whole new level of convenience to a lot of life, even accounting, but it is also true that it does not solve everything.

Accounting packages simplify the accounting process by offering simple means to accomplish tasks that could otherwise take hours or days. These accounting packages are now mobile and you can take your business wherever you want and wherever you are. Provided that you are in the range of some internet connection, you are doing business.
But there is a warning to be heeded here. No matter how advanced the package is, it does not provide all the accounting solutions. Without the skills of a competent accountant, you will get the wrong accounting data from these accounting packages.
As with any situation in life, what you put in, is what you get out. If you put rubbish data (incorrect or unreliable), you will only pull rubbish results (reports etc) out.
Suitable professional
When using this technology, it will only work well when there is a suitably qualified person to guide the process and check if the data is consistent and the packages are configured in the right way to produce accurate results.
The notion of technology doing everything for you is merely a fable and might cost you in the long run. Always utilize both the technology and the services of an accountant.
